Jordie Lunn Rough RF2
Almost immediately after Rough AF dropped last December, freeride legend Jordie Lunn returned to his second home, the deep woods of Vancouver Island, to dig and build fresh new line lines. Nearly half a year later, the result were lines - or at least what Jordie calls lines - that define what 'Rough AF' really means.
“The build for Rough AF 2 was much more ambitious than the first! About five months of hard digging, cutting and wondering how each line would ride. There were definitely a few stunts that had me second guessing myself! It was a super fun project, and everything rode quite well in the end. I was pumped for Kali's support on this build and for sending Sterling Lorence over! It had been quite a few years since we've shot together, so I was pretty excited to show him what I'd been working on. On to the next build now!" - Jordie Lunn

FMB World Tour 2017 – Preliminary Calendar
January 24, 2017: Weeks have passed since the last FMB World Tour Event of 2016. Now, looking on to a bright and action ridden 2017 the first events of the new season have been confirmed. The preliminary calendar already consists of 18 FMB Events in 10 different countries around the globe and there will be many more to come.
With White Style in Leogang, Austria, kicking-off the FMB World Tour on January 27, all slopestyle fans and athletes can look forward to a long list of locations hosting FMB Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond Events this year. Reason enough for riders of all skill levels to get hold of their 2017 AM or PRO FMB License and make this season the best season yet!
Already 18 events have been confirmed and many more are to follow in the next weeks. At the grassroots level the events Diverse NIGHT of the JUMPs (POL, March 25), Bike Fest (POL, May 27), Gravity Jump It! (GER, June 10) and Cropp Baltic Games (POL, August 20) are already looking forward to lots of local riders sending it at their FMB Bronze Events. With the first FMB Silver Event of the year happening in Leogang this week, the next already confirmed contests are Bike Days (SUI, May 7) and Natural Games (FRA, July 1). The number of Gold Events has a good chance of increasing once again. The modification of adding every contestant’s best Gold Event result to the end result of the Diamond Series proved its worth last season and will be maintained. With the event O’Marisquino in Vigo (ESP, August 13) making the leap from the silver level, an increased number of Gold Events is to be expected. Other confirmed FMB Gold Events are Swatch Rocket Air (SUI, April 29), FISE Montpellier (FRA, May 27) 26TRIX (AUT, June 10), GlemmRide Bike Festival Saalbach (AUT, July 8) and Colorado Freeride Festival (USA, July 29) for the time being.
All event organizers and athletes, who know of local events or local dirt jump parks can make their event be a part of the FMB World Tour this year. Just follow the link to see, which requirements have to be fulfilled in order to host an FMB Bronze or Silver Event. Multiple events in one country can also sign up to become a National Series such as the very successful Dirtwars UK series. Inquiries can made via email to info@fmbworldtour.com.
Although the calendar is still very much in a state of flux, the FMB Diamond Events are all set in stone. After Crankworx Rotorua really gets the season under way on April 2, fans can look forward to a “double header” in June with Crankworx Les Gets on June 18 followed by Crankworx Innsbruck a week later on June 25. With the season in full swing, Red Bull Joyride at Crankworx Whistler will get everyone stoked on August 20, before Red Bull District Ride will conclude the FMB Diamond Series on September 2.
Keep your eyes peeled for further information about live webcasts and calendar updates on www.fmbworldtour.com or stay informed and sign up for the FMB World Tour Newsletter.

Trek C3 Project Takes FMB Factory Team Title
Trek doubles up as Brandon Semenuk takes the FMB Diamond Series title and C3 Project wins the FMB Factory Team Championship.
Munich, November 5th 2014 – For 2014, the FMBA introduced the all-new FMB Factory Team ranking. Just like the FMB Diamond Series, the title was anyone’s for the taking. After a full season of FMB Diamond Series stops, Trek rider Brandon Semenuk emerged victorious. While this year saw the Canadian athlete take his third FMB World Champion title, he is not alone in his celebrations. Collectively, the Trek C3 Project has taken the first ever FMB Factory Team Championship title. You can take a look at the final standings here: http://bit.ly/2014_FMBFactoryTeamRanking
The performance of the Trek C3 Project team featuring Brandon Semenuk (CAN), Brett Rheeder (CAN), Cam McCaul (USA) and Tom Van Steenbergen (CAN) has rewarded them with the first ever FMB Factory Team title. The main focus this season was on the battle between Semenuk and Rheeder as they fought to the last line and kicker for the FMB World Championship. Cam McCaul, the legend that he is, attended fewer events but certainly made his mark by showing support and offering advice. The youngest member of the team, Tom Van Steenbergen had fire in his eyes this year. He was probably hoping for more but a mid-season injury kept him off his bike until the final, Red Bull Rampage.
We caught up with team manager Andrew Shandro to find out more about Trek’s winning FMB season.
You must be proud of the boys. Was it a tough season this year?
Ya, always stoked to see the crew compete for the wins but more importantly help progress the sport, which undoubtedly Brandon and Brett did in Slopestyle this season. It's always a tough season on the riders the expectations they put on themselves to compete and win and staying healthy is very hard.
Was there any tension between Brett and Semenuk this season?
Brandon and Brett have a huge amount of respect for each other as riders and competitors. I would not call it tension I would call it healthy competition.
Riders say that once you ride the Ticket – you never go back. What is so special about the frame?
What makes the Trek Ticket and Ticket S so good is the fact that the bikes were developed 100% with our riders and the Trek engineers. The bikes are exactly what Brandon, Brett, Cam, R-Dog and Tom ask for. There is also constant communication between the team, engineers and the development group. If one of the riders asks for something specific that they feel will help benefit them, then the development crew makes it happen.
Canyon and Specialized were looking strong this year – did this make you a bit nervous?
No it did not make me nervous, I knew with the FMB Diamond Series being the main focus, our crew would step up and be in the running for the overall.
What do you think about the FMB Factory Team ranking?
I think what's most important is seeing the best riders in the world competing at the highest level which we saw numerous times this season. Obviously stoked for Brandon and Brett on an unreal contest season, the team overall is a bonus.
FMB Factory Team Ranking – recap
When the FMBA announced the news of a new FMB Factory Team ranking and the information about team riders was released. The forums clearly favored Trek C3 Project. However it was not until later in the season that Trek pulled back to take the win, leaving their fans in a cold sweat for a while.
Canyon Factory Freeride Team led the standings with solid victories and podiums by Thomas Genon, supported by Anton Thelander and Peter Henke. Mid-way through the season, the Specialized team moved into first thanks to team riders Martin Soderstrom, Nicholi Rogatkin and Darren Berrecloth. Heading to Red Bull Joyride, Canyon and Specialized were weakened due to rider injuries. This is when Trek C3 Project began climbing the ranking. Morpheus rider, Anthony Messere also had a great season and while his efforts helped place Morpheus second overall, they could not overtake the all-star team who leaped ahead in the rankings. The YT Industries team went relatively undetected throughout the season but Yannick Granieri was steadily stacking up the points and Cam Zink sealed a tied third place factory team result with his epic performance at Red Bull Rampage.

PROJEKT ROAM: Landscapes Vol. 2
If it wasn't for the colorful and diverse landscapes that decorate and geographically define our country, where would we ride? Landscapes is a film series that celebrates and depicts the fruit of the earth's time and toils with the elements that have helped to create and shape the terrain we mountain bike across today. Volume Two of Landscapes showcases several sides of the multi faceted trail systems found in Durango, CO. This elevated, mountainous country provides a plethora of variation and trail options for any mountain bike adventurer to explore.
Situated at 6,512 feet above sea level in the lush Animas River Valley, Durango, Colorado is a town that is as rich in culture, history, and outdoor recreation as the surrounding ore laden San Juan Mountains. The former mining town has it's own quirky, laid back vibe; an eclectic mix of mining town meets mountain town meets the west.
With a long standing reputation as a bicycling mecca, Durango turned out to be an optimum choice for us to spend time exploring on two wheels. Spiraling outwards from the hub of downtown, the countryside is magnanimous.
The ever present contour of rugged mountain peaks that define Colorado's high country seem to be synonymous with the horizon in nearly every direction.
The riding found in the higher elevations can be grueling with arduous ascents, sometimes leaving you thinking that your oxygen just might have been stolen from you like a thief in the night. But it doesn't really matter, because the descents and the surroundings, along with the whole experience, completely overpower those minute grumblings. Especially when you blast down the mountain with an ear-splitting grin while your entire focus and being are trained on the trail as it flashes by before you and still winds downward thousands of feet below you.
We spent some time wandering through the high country in the outlying mountain passes sprawled around Durango, it was as if you're taking a step back into time.
Abandoned ghost towns, ripe with dilapidated wooden buildings, endure the harsh winters and picturesque summers slowly succumbing to the inevitable forces of nature and time.
Old abodes, equipment, mines and mills in various stages of decomposition are often in view, blending in with the natural surrounds, silent and weather-beaten monuments of a time passed.
These artifacts of a different era made for remarkable, exploratory stops during our adventures in the high alpine single track wonderland.
Many of Durango's different riding areas provide trails that make their way through twinkling groves of aspen and meadows stippled with an abundance of flowers that range from every colour under the sun. This scenery is definitely more noticeable when you stop for a ride regroup.
There are numerous trailheads and trails to be found scattered everywhere about the city, it seems. An added bonus is that all of these different, local riding locations are unique unto themselves.
Rocky terrain and scrub brush dominate the landscape with clay coloured earth cushioning the tires' tread in some of the trail riding regions.
One of the things that makes this mountain biking haven stand out was the ability to spend a day on a trail that carried you through stands of pine passing an occasional crystalline lake if that is what you were in the mood for.
Or if you wanted a completely different ride the next day, it wasn't a problem to hit up a trail with manmade features including jumps, drops, and berms.
We happened to be in Durango during the summer months in which monsoon season dictates the weather pattern. Once this tumultuous weather hits, many a trail day can turn into an electrifying adventure.
A ride would start out with perfect, textbook weather. Over a matter of a couple hours, our senses would become bombarded with brilliant flashes of light accompanied by the sounds of roaring thunder.
The thunderheads sometimes brought moisture that turned the dirt into tacky trail heaven, or on other occasions, completely saturated us and the trail completely with torrents of rain. Whatever the ensuing weather brought, we knew we were always in for a thriller, hair-raising time.
Whether it's after spring snow melt, during the warm, sunny months of summer, or in the autumn, Durango is definitely a place with a genuine multitude of trails to ride and enjoy on a mountain bike.

What riders have to say about the contest
What do you think of the contest and why?
It´s a superfun and relaxed contest and the perfect way to end the season with your friends. I am very over traveling right now, but will travel over the pond anyway. I guess that shows that it´s a pretty damn good contest!
What is the atmosphere like?
The atmosphere is definitely more towards having a good time then to win it. And that´s a great way to end a very competitive season.
Is the contest like other contest?
The comp and weekend have their own tweaks, always fun with something a bit different.
"Martin Soderstrom"
What do you think of the contest and why?
I think that the head to head format is awesome. It's unique for a dirt jump contest and it reminds me of racing dual slalom back in the day...
What is the atmosphere like?
Atmosphere is mellow. It feels like a jam.
Is the contest like other contest?
Nope, AT's Showdown is a refreshing detox from the hectic contest schedule that we go through over the summer.
"Tyler McCaul"
