Rolling

rolling!

This means two things to us, the camera is rolling and let's roll out the trail.

I remember what made me start mountain biking. Its those impressive foreign mtb videos. i told myself, i want to do that, i want to ride like them, i want to make films like that.

Many are asking... why make this film, why go to all this trouble, what does your film say... Well, we love to ride, we love the outdoors, we love the dirt and we love films. This whole project is more than just the film for us, its the whole experience. Riding with friends, filming with friends, and having fun with all that. We are not Pro riders and our equipments, experience and funds to make a bike film is limited. That represents 99% of the people who will see this film.

We want the viewers to say two things when they see the film. We want to ride and we want to make films.

Rolling is short bike film made by amateur riders and by amateur film makers. Directed by Edrie Ocampo, a visual effects guy from Manila. This may be the Philippines first major bike film.

Produced by multimedia company EOVFX and supported by friends and their families, they set out to do this film "for the love", meaning no ones getting paid for all the hard work... just the satisfaction, adventure and fun of filming and riding! Grantrail Cycles Philippines, Hitchpro Philippines and BikeOne supported the film to help out with some of production cost and some bike equipments.

Filmed for three days in San Jose, Tarlac and Bongabon, Nueva Ecija Philippines, the riders are the ones who built and linked all these trails. We can call it a "locals only trail" because they are the only ones who know these trails. A combination of fast single tracks with serious descents, rock gardens and rice terraces (yup), everyone had a blast riding and filming, and everyone agreed that its hard... real hard and challenging to ride and film in these trails.

All the riders are weekend warriors, built their own bikes with their hard earned money, and ride their trails only when their day jobs permit. We have a total of 11 riders including the director. This film is to inspire everybody, riders and non-riders, film makers and those who aspire to make one.
