YT Presents Their 2017 Range

YT is proud to present its 2017 bike range – the new models are available on yt- industries.com as of today. Brand new specs, rich new graphics and new sizes are among the highlights.

For this year, the JEFFSY, CAPRA, and TUES will all be available in the very exclusive CF Pro Race version. Thanks to the new flagship “Liquid Metal” paintjob these high-end bikes will certainly turn some heads on the trail, while the killer builds and highly adjustable components will be high on every racer’s or pro-rider’s wish list.

Another highlight of the new range is the introduction of an XL size for both the CAPRA CF and the TUES CF – welcome news for any rider who enjoys a bike with longer reach. In general, the new range offers everything that YT has built its name on: from entry-level race rigs for Young Talents to the most exclusive premium builds, there is something here for every budget and every riding style.

JEFFSY

When it was released in 2016, JEFFSY dropped like a bomb. 2017 promises more of the same: YT’s aggressive 29er trail bike will for this year also be available in a CF Pro Race version, sporting a rad new paint job and the very finest components. With Kashima coated FOX Factory suspension, SRAM Guide Ultimate brakes, Renthal carbon handlebars, a carbon crank and wide range cassette from e*thirteen, this exclusive bike inspires maximum performance – and not only on the race track. Meanwhile, the JEFFSY CF Pro confidently holds its own line, with FOX suspension that casually smooths out the most uneven of trail surfaces. For those looking for a wider selection of gears, the JEFFSY CF Two and AL Two with their SRAM 2x drivetrains have plenty in reserve. And last but not least, the AL One is a perfect entry-level machine that scores extra bonus points thanks to reliable components and an unbeatable price.

Capra

The carbon version of this enduro legend is available with three different builds for 2017: CF Pro Race, CF Pro, and CF. The CF Pro Race is the flagship offering of the enduro range, once again ready to go into battle sporting Kashima coated FOX Factory suspension components. All new for 2017 are the e*thirteen carbon wheels on the CF Pro Race, as well as the Race Face and e*thirteen dropper posts that appear for the first time on the CF Pro and CF models. Those who prefer aluminum will find what they seek with the AL Comp or the AL. Both aluminum models come equipped with RockShox suspension components: the highly acclaimed Lyrik fork pairs up nicely with the Monarch+ RC3 and Monarch+ R, respectively. For ultimate shifting performance, all CAPRA models run SRAM 1x11 drivetrains this year.

Aaron Gwin successfully proved last year that the TUES is not only a World Cup worthy downhill bike, but that it has the pedigree to claim the top spot of the podium. Reason enough for us to build a CF Pro Race version! FOX’s 40 Float Factory fork and Float X2 Factory shock deliver World Cup vibes in the suspension department. Freshly introduced to the downhill game by Gwin himself, the TRP Quadiem G-Spec brakes are on stopper duty for the first time this year. Carbon wheels and cranks from e*thirteen and the carbon handlebar from Renthal help keep the weight down and the reliability high – just as you would expect on a purebred race machine.

At YT, it’s not only the flagship model that belongs on the racetrack. The TUES CF Pro and TUES CF were also born to compete: the CF Pro with its noble FOX suspension, or the CF with its easy-to-tune RockShox BoXXer Team and Vivid RC2 shock. Finally, the TUES AL is a fun and affordable way to get into the sport of downhill – offering outstanding components for smaller budgets.

AARON GWIN WINS DEBUT WORLD CUP FOR THE YT MOB IN LOURDES

Reigning World Cup Champion Aaron Gwin scored a historic win for his new team’s title sponsor, YT Industries, by taking their TUES CF Downhill bike to a maiden victory on the slopes of the Pyrenees on the outskirts of Lourdes France. The opening round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, the 24th season of the series, presented plenty of challenges throughout the week due to changeable weather conditions.

Despite the sunny weather on race day, threats of a looming storm late in the afternoon certainly gave everyone something to think about as Aaron went up the hill to start his race. His win last year on this course was in extremely dry and dusty conditions, far from today’s track conditions, so to walk away with a podium result would have been a great start for the new team. After the first split it was clear that Aaron was on a great run, building on his lead throughout each of the 4 sectors before finally crossing the line with a 3m 09.131secs, some 2.7secs faster than previous fastest Danny Hart (GBR).

Nine riders were left to come down but all eyes were waiting on crowd favourite and World Champion, Loic Bruni of France. Bruni was showing incredible pace and was up on the first 3 splits but a small mistake was a sign of things to come as he pushed a little too hard towards the bottom and came off his bike. The win was Aaron’s. In fact, this was Aaron’s 50th World Cup start, his 30th podium, of which 15 have been wins.

Aaron said: “I’m so stoked to win the first round of the year with the new team. This week was especially challenging for everyone on the mountain due to the changing weather conditions, nearly every run was different, so to have it all come together on race day is really cool. I want to say a big thank you to the team staff, everyone at YT, and all of our team sponsors. We put in a ton of work in the offseason to get us ready for the races and it’s awesome to see it all come together so well. Really looking forward to the rest of the season; this was a great start and I believe we’ll continue to get stronger from here!”

Aaron’s team mate Angel Suarez had a tough week and after a heavy crash on a Saturday practice run and was suffering from a sore back. Unable to complete his second practice run he went straight into qualifying but was unable to ride at his limit and just missed out on the top 80.

The team now prepares for Round 2 in Cairns, Australia, on April 22 and 23.

YT Joins The World Cup with Aaron Gwin and Angel Suarez

The bike manufacturer YT finally shares its secret and presents its first Downhill World Cup racing team named “The YT Mob”. None other than American Aaron Gwin along with Spanish Youngster Angel Suarez will stir up the downhill world, while the team will be operated by 23 Degrees Sports with Martin Whiteley as Team Director.

Exactly one week ago the terrible news about the death of YT team rider Kelly McGarry made headlines all around the globe. The team at YT is still at a loss for words regarding the sudden loss of this extraordinary character. Unsure about the right moment to release the much-anticipated news about Aaron Gwin and the downhill team, YT has now decided to make it official: Aaron Gwin is coming to Forchheim!

After an extensive search, the 28-year-old downhill superstar has decided to join the German bike manufacturer. Aaron Gwin’s team mate is 20-year-old Angel Suarez from Vigo, who can look back on a very successful motocross career and who has already showcased his immense downhill racing potential with a top 20 finish at the World Cup in Lenzerheide in 2015. With the Mob, YT joins the World Cup circus for the first time in its history.

Finally, the long-awaited wish to send the TUES onto the world’s toughest tracks to prove that the downhill machine is not just a top-notch freeride beast, but also a proper racing tool is now coming true. With his distinctive racing focus and his untamed will to win, Aaron Gwin adds a new dimension to the YT family. It was particularly important for Gwin that his new bike sponsor shares the same passion and dedication for downhill as he does. With YT he has a like-minded crew on his side, one that is completely committed to the gravity aspect of mountain biking. The set-up of the bikes out of Forchheim could not be any better: The kinematic concept and the geometry of the TUES convinced the multiple World Cup winner already after the first ride. There will be no changes made to the frame itself, Gwin will ride all the World Cup races with a stock TUES frame.

So, has YT had a change of heart, deviating from their Good Times mentality to now only heavily focus on nothing but rankings and podiums? “No way”, says CEO Markus Flossmann. “Good Times is also the motto of our YT Mob. We are going to offer our riders the best bikes and conditions, so they can focus on doing their thing. The fun of racing will always come first, because eventually the rider who can stay relaxed and calm during the heat and stress of racing will take the win. We are beyond thrilled to have Aaron and Angel joining us.”

Gwin is also excited about his new sponsor: “The unbelievable hype that we’ve seen over the last few weeks and the feedback of the fans were incredible, but I am really happy to finally announce the news. We are a great match because the guys at YT share the same passion for mountain biking as I do. I am sure we will have a great time together. The TUES is perfect and I am really happy to officially ride it from now on.”

In addition to YT as title sponsor, the YT Mob will have the following co-sponsors: e*thirteen, Onza Tires, TRP, Renthal, SDG, Motorex, ODI, Cane Creek and Alpinestars.

Aaron Gwin Joins YT Bikes

We knew the news would be out soon and now it is official YT bikes welcomes AG to the team!

"The best downhill rider in the world right now meets YT? We’d say Good Times ahead. The multiple downhill World Cup winner, Aaron Gwin decided to join the YT Family. Aaron is one of the coolest and most professional riders of the World Cup circus: Aaron holds his nerve like none other, and gets on the top step of the podium even under the most ridiculous circumstances. He is always pushing his limits and is known for keeping his composure when things get gnarly - like his legendary chainless World Cup win in Leogang, for example. His fourteen World Cup victories and three overall World Cup titles have already made him a living legend.

To finally lay claim to the long-desired and much-awaited World Championship title, Aaron has chosen YT and the TUES after a long search. Everything has got to be on point now. The TUES and Aaron is a match made in heaven as the geometry and suspension concept of the TUES correspond exactly to Aaron’s preferences. The conditions for winning a World Championship title could not be any more favorable. Go for it, Aaron!"

YT Industries Launches Its 2016 Bike-Range

While some might still be recovering from New Year’s Blues, YT has already shifted into the next gear. The gravity experts from Forchheim turn it up a notch and release their 2016 bikes today. Along with new graphics, the 2016 bikes are also equipped with brand new suspension parts. In addition to the proven RockShox suspension, FOX forks and shocks are now on board for this year as well.
For 2016, the top models of the enduro and downhill range are equipped with FOX suspension parts. The extensive configuration options in terms of rebound and compression are going to be appealing for racers and pro-riders alike. In addition, the Pro versions of the bikes are equipped with full-on racing parts, which leave no wish unfulfilled. In addition to the specification updates, the bikes also receive a completely fresh look. The CAPRA and the TUES are going to blast through the woods with a hot new look, which is characterized by a straightforward appearance and new color-options. All in all, YT’s 2016 range is extremely versatile: from high-end bikes for professionals and racers and comp-level bikes for the middle segment, all the way to entry-level bikes for young talents on a budget. All of the above can be found on a brand new, easy-to-use, and thoroughly re-designed YT website.

CAPRA CF

The carbon version of the enduro bike offers three different options: CAPRA CF Pro Race, CAPRA CF Pro, and CAPRA CF Comp. Both Pro models are equipped with a FOX 36 Float Factory fork and a FOX Float X2 Factory shock, that offer plenty of settings for suspension-savvy racers and trail-surfers. The CAPRA CF Pro adds even more suspension-travel to your ride: with a full 180mm up front, with 170mm out back the CAPRA CF Pro is definitely ready for rough terrain and trips to the bike park. The name of the top model, CAPRA CF Pro Race already reveals its character: made for racing without compromises. The bike is equipped with top-notch components which are extremely tough and light. Some other highlights of the bike, beside the FOX 36 fork and the Float X2 shock, are the DT Swiss carbon wheelset, the Renthal carbon bars, as well as the super-crisp SRAM Guide Ultimate brakes. The CAPRA CF Comp does not need to hide behind the Pro versions: the combination of the RockShox Lyrik RCT3 and the RockShox Monarch Plus RC3 lets you easily handle chunk, roots, and drops. 1x11 is standard on all three CAPRA CF models.

TUES
Improving the TUES was quite a difficult task. After all, it has grown up quite a bit and has become a sophisticated downhill bike, full of character. It has proven that it can easily handle the monster-sized jumps at the FEST series and the massive abuse inflicted at Rampage. For 2016 the TUES CF Pro comes equipped with new suspension components. The FOX 40 Float Factory fork and the FOX Float X2 Factory shock are a killer team, which in combination with tough parts makes the TUES CF Pro a perfect companion for your next race. Carbon wheels, carbon cranks, and carbon handlebars keep the weight low and the speed at a maximum. The TUES CF Comp is rigged with the dream combo of the RockShox Boxxer Team and the RockShox Vivid R2C. The DT Swiss wheels plus the full Renthal cockpit smoothen out this rad package, which is suitable for almost every rider - the TUES CF Comp is easy to handle but still fully suitable for racing. For young talents on a tighter budget, YT offers the TUES AL, which is a well-equipped door opener for those looking to get into the business of downhill.
