Danny Hart And Mondraker Part Ways

At Mondraker we are fully committed to Racing. Downhill Racing is in our roots, in the blood that runs through our veins since the very first day we were born as a MTB brand. MS-Mondraker is the best representative of our spirit, the team that shows and shares our same vision and DNA.

It’s with great sadness that we have to announce the departure of Danny Hart from MS-Mondraker Team. It’s been a very successful three year journey filled with incredible emotions where we shared the same passion to winning races, the same commitment for becoming the best that led to a 2016 season that will forever remain in the history books as one of the most thrilling -and the most successful one for MS-Mondraker becoming the number 1 Team in the overall ranking, Mondraker, Summum Carbon and Danny Hart himself- winning the last 3 World Cup races and the World Championships in the most challenging and demanding track of the season, Val di Sole, claiming the top spot of the podium and Mondraker making a clean sweep with Laurie Greenland 2nd and Florent Payet 3rd. A unique and a once in a lifetime achievement that no other brand had ever accomplished. A second to none success for us as a brand.

Some of the most incredible Danny runs will forever remain in our mind and in our hearts, as his first ever World Cup win at Lenzerheide or the World Championship winning downhill run. The undefeated Danny Hart & Summum Carbon duo of the second part of the 2016 season ending up in bright World Champion rainbow jersey stripes. We are very grateful Danny, that’s how we will remind you! Together we achieved something we could have never ever dreamed of.

A new exciting 2018 season has already started with many surprises and MS-Mondraker Team riders will fight again to clinch as many podium finishes as possible and deliver their best performances!

Same way as we do at Mondraker every year.

Mondraker Introduces The 2016 Carbon Dune

The new Dune Carbon will make you take on your next Enduro race with the ultimate bike on the market. Here is the perfect blend between the Cross Country climbing ability and the performance of a Summum going downhill... Go full gas and enjoy your Dune Day.

Dune Carbon combines the best lightness and efficiency qualities of the Foxy Carbon with the top features of Summum Carbon: a very structurally robust frameset suited adapted to the Enduro racing demands.

A new lower link with collet-axle pivots and bolts with expander cone washers that offer maximum reliability without any maintenance needs and the choice to adjust its geometry, slacken the head angle and chain stay length.

Professional Enduro races such as the EWS require not only a good physical condition, but also the most complete bike. For these reasons, besides our best Stealth Carbon frameset with our exclusive Forward Geometry and optimized Zero suspension system with 160mm rear wheel travel, the bike also offers the option of choosing the head tube angle with + 1 / -1 ° and chain stay length in 430mm or 440mm. The result speaks for itself: Dune Carbon is the most sophisticated and advanced multiadjustable Enduro bike of the moment.

Mondraker Dune Carbon is the representation and culmination of the currently most complete Enduro racing bike. A sophisticated frameset with unique features weighting just 2,450 grams (5.4lbs) without rear shock. Mondraker’s best technologies applied to the ultimate Enduro race bike.

The characteristics of the Stealth Carbon technology are curved and rounded shapes, which are clearly visible and make its impressive appearance even more striking.

Dune Carbon stands out from the rest with exceptional structural rigidity denoting its careful craftsmanship and the studied positioning of each and every one of the carbon layers that make it up.

What stands out above all is our Vacuum Compression Process method, through which the frame undergoes a process of fiber compression through a vacuum at high pressure: This method guarantees the reliability of the structure, achieving results in terms of strength and rigidity that are greater than those for fibers only applied manually.

The Dune Carbon features a new optimization of the Zero system, specially optimized to offer the best performance with 1X gearings with the most neutral pedaling performance and the most capable rear suspension.

Thanks to the Stealth Carbon construction and the new bearings and oversized axles of the Zero system, the Dune Carbon offers a better performance and a supreme efficiency for a racing Enduro bike to be more agile, suppler and faster. Virtually the same Summum Carbon performance for an Enduro model.

Forward Geometry is based on a geometry concept that features longer top tubes in combination with a shorter stem.

Dune Carbon is assembled with the FG30 30mm length stem for the three models R, RR and XR and for the 4 sizes: S, M, L and XL. Optionally, FG10 and FG20 stems are offered too.

The advantages of Forward Geometry lay on a better control of your bike, superior handling, stability and higher confidence, which are key facts in an Enduro Bike when it comes to beating our time against the clock.

Geometry

Dune Carbon is available in 4 different sizes: S, M, L and XL. Dune Carbon XR and its frameset kit include the adjustable geometry kit to steepen or slacken the head angle (+1º/-1º) and chain stays 430mm or 440mm.

2015 MS Mondraker Team

It got a bit quiet around the MS Mondraker Team since the big success in 2012, where the team was competing for the top spot in the UCI worldcup team ranking. For sure we had some good results, but we were missing the big victories we had in the past.

We run our team because we are race driven and hungry for victories, but we needed to set back for reorientation after the leaving of the two top team riders. We knew where we wanted to be, but we had to wait till our stars align for building our new line up.

We are happy to announce that worldchampion of 2011 Danny Hart will join our program and we welcome back worldchampion of 2009 and 2011 Emmeline Ragot, who was one of the main reasons for our success in 2012. Both will join our long-term member Markus Pekoll and our rookie Innes Graham.
The main focus of the team will be the 2015 UCI mtb worldcup as well as the 2015 UCI MTB world championships in Andorra. Furthermore we are going to attend selected races of the BDS series and the European IXS cup series.

Markus Stoeckl: “2012 was our best year, the team was fighting to get the top spot in the world cup team ranking and our riders developed impressively. After 2012 we had to let 2 of our riders and friends go, we focused on supporting Markus and Damien and started to look for new riders to built a new and fresh team which would be able to be on the top of the ranking again.
Now after years of talks and negotiations we are happy to welcome Danny Hart and all team members are looking forward to work with Emmeline again, she is a guaranty for great races and lots of fun while traveling and in the pits.”

The whole team will compete on the new Summum CARBON with the support of Marzocchi suspension- the further sponsor lineup will be released soon.
Now we are going into our off-season, which will be busy with testing new bike setups. We are looking forward to get prepared for the 2015 season. Stay tuned for news, videos and pictures of the team.

2012 UCI MTB World Champs By MS Mondraker

The UCI MTB world championships 2012 of Leogang/ Austria are over and even we missed the win of the rainbow stripes we end up with a 2nd place in the women’s race and pretty good team result. But lets start at the beginning…

After a couple of days with a lot of rain and temperature drop close to 0° we were lucky for race day. The weather turned back to good and so the conditions on the track changed quiet a lot from deep and slippery to a really fast and rough piste.

After a descent timed training on Saturday where Emmeline set the fastest time for women’s and all male riders end up in the top 15 we were prepared for the race.

Emmeline came down as second last rider with some little mistakes here and there. When she came to the finish she knew that it hasn’t been a winning run and so it was when she checked on the timing board . Emmeline came in in 2nd place and there was Rachel Atherton still to come. Rachel was handicapped by a back injury and so she was not able to put a winning run together as well. The winner of the day was the 19 year-old Chaare Morgane from France- maybe the unexpected racer of this weekend even she showed up already and the one or other worldcup podium.

The boys showed a strong performance in seeding already and the boys knew what’s possible. Starting by the current UCI ranking Markus Pekoll was the first to come down of the MS boys. He is Austrian and so he was in the position of being the local hero, which puts some pressure on him. Markus had a solid run on and managed it to hop into the 2nd position of the hot seat. He sat there for a while and a few top riders haven’t been able to beat his time and in the end this brought him into 9th position.
Second last of MS-RACING to come down was Damien. He has a good but not perfect run, but in the end he finished in 6th position. Brook was the last man of MS to come down and he was on his limits, but not without mistakes, which cost too much time in the end for being on the podium- Brook ended up in 8th position.
Even we haven’t been able to win the infamous rainbow stripes we are happy with what we have reached in co-operation with our partners. One rider on the podium and 3 others in the top 10 is an awesome result and makes us one of the best teams on the circuit.

Thanks to all our sponsors and partners, who helped us during this week with special products, service and hospitality.

Brook MacDonald Wins The Val d' Isere World Cup

It’s hard to find words for was has happened today. After the last race we needed to focus on the words “that’s racing” as the competition was clouded by some bad luck. But we knew that our luck will be back some when, but we didn’t expect it that quick . Brook won his first worldcup race here in Val d’ Isere/ France and Emmeline got 2nd again.

The race week started with a course walk, where no one seems to be too happy about the track. It’s a bit short and the village of Val d’ Isere is on a sea level of 1821 meters, which means almost no trees and no roots at all. After a few runs, most of the riders get used to it and the MS Mondraker Team had some good fun during the training days.

The qualification was a tough one as the weather changed a few times and quiet a lot of top 20 riders came down with flat tires such as Steve Smith or Sam Hill. Markus had solid run and ended up in 22nd place, Damien came in promising 7th place and Brook stand out with a 3rd place. Emmeline showed her strength again and finished in 2nd place just behind all-time competitor Rachel Atherton. Like in Windham everything seems to perfect for race day, but with outcome of this past worldcup race in mind we were a bit more nervous than at other races.

The girl’s finals were again a competition between Emmeline and Rachel Atherton. Emmeline had a couple of mistakes right after the start and a little bit of headwind. In the end Emmeline was 1,8 seconds off Rachel, which was the 2nd place of the day.

In the men’s race Markus was the first rider to come down of the MS Mondraker Team. He had again a solid run and finished in 19th position. Damien came down with a decent run, which might have brought him on the podium. He was around 0.7 seconds off the current lead as he went over his bars and crashed hard.
Last men to come down of the MS Mondraker Team was Brook and we knew that he was hungry for a podium. He came crossed the finish line and got in lead ahead of Greg Minaar and Gee Atherton, but there were 2 riders still to come, which was Josh Bryceland and Cameron Cole. Both weren’t able to beat Brooks time and Brook won his first worldcup race.

The whole MS MONDRAKER TEAM is now pretty proud and happy about this win, as it is the first men’s victory for MS RACING since Chris Kovarik in 2006. Furthermore it’s the last win on flat pedals since the world championships in 2010.
“Thank you Brook for making this happen and congrats to your first worldcup win- there are more to come!”

With this strong performance the MS Mondraker Team became 2nd best team of the day, which brought us back in 3rd position of the teams overall.

A big “thank you” to all our supporters and people who are helping us out in the background- you guys are awesome and you are a part of this victory!
