Cane Creek Re-Launches Headset Fit Finder
Cane Creek is proud to announce the rebuild of one of their most popular online tools, the Headset Fit Finder.
Identifying proper headset fit can be complicated. Cane Creek has been helping dealers and consumers make sense of the process with its customized Headset Fit Finder since 2010 and now they have made it even easier.
The Headset Fit Finder allows users to quickly identify headset requirements by choosing make, model and year information of a bike. With over 11,500 bicycles in the database and more added every day, most users will find their headset requirements easily. If a given bicycle is not in the database, users can follow the step-by-step wizard that generates fit results based on frame and fork configuration.
The Fit Finder has been reworked for an interactive and user-friendly experience, integrating the latest S.H.I.S. evolution and data mining capabilities.
S.H.I.S. (Standardized Headset Identification System) is a common language for describing modern bicycle headsets developed by Cane Creek and industry manufacturing partners. By incorporating S.H.I.S. into the Fit Finder, a user is walked through the S.H.I.S. identification process during their headset search.
“With every innovation we come up with, we are tasked with the responsibility of education. If we don’t properly provide the resources necessary for everyone to understand – no one will use them”, says Holly Colson, Director of Marketing for Cane Creek. “This new format provides a comprehensive experience along with an educational element, users learn SHIS as they click through our site”. The end result is a better understanding of the SHIS procedure for the industry and consumers and greater adoption worldwide.
On the back-end, the new Headset Fit Finder is capturing valuable data so that Cane Creek will be able to better identify industry headset trends and purchasing habits. To greater expand the reach, Cane Creek distributors and dealers are also able to embed the Headset Fit Finder into their websites via an iFrame.
Bicycle headtubes and headsets have changed dramatically in just a few short seasons," according to Chris Strout, Director of Aftermarket Sales. "In-depth analysis of the market allows us to make practical recommendations for retailers, to take the guesswork out of stocking decisions. Embedding the Fit Finder takes that a step further by taking the mystery out of choosing the right headset for any bike”.
