Welcome to the review section for www.downhillnews.com we hope you enjoy it and can gather useful insight into your next bike, frame or parts purchase through our experiences. Our team of testers come from all categories of the sport. From category three to Pro and for a more detailed description of the class created by USA Cycling check HERE. This part of the site will bring reviews to users in a manner that is unique. The Reviews section will be broken down into Components, Complete Bikes, Frames, and Suspension. Using riders from Cat 3 on up to Pro will give a good overview of how the item will preform under various demands. Our testers will ride on various types of terrain and trail difficulty. The wider range of trails we can hit will give a better overall impression of how a bike, or product will perform in the real world. Testers will be timed on certain trails against their own personal bikes, or against a component that we use as the build kit to complete frames these items will be considered our benchmark to compare other products against. So we will always have some type of reference to show time variations. Using timed runs will help to show how quickly riders become comfortable on a product and how well it performs under real conditions. Downhill races are won by seconds or fractions of a section. So the products should be tested the same way. Below is a breakdown of how the grade scale will work. 5= Excellent 4= Very good 3= Average 2= Below average 1= Terrible Our testers will also write a brief summary of how a product performed and what they would like to see done different. People visiting the site can create an account and comment, ask questions, or voice concerns below the tests. Create your account by clicking HERE and selecting register, this account will also work for the forum as well. Below is a list of our testers and the resumes, category level, experience and general information about them. Check them out!
