The first race of the 2010 series happened today and the turnout was great with 22 racers even under the gloomy sky and the rain clouds threatening all morning long. The course is long and twisty will some rocks covering the hard clay below. Pinch flats happen on this trail all the time. Bikes where split almost fifty fifty between AM and DH bikes. There was some uphill so the AM bikes had a big advantage. This is dubbed as a Super D race BTW not downhill, but it is fast, rocky and loose. Add some rain on top and it can get sketchy.

The weather was not to good for photos so I used off camera flashes, and had some issues tracking some riders due to branches being in the way and me not having my knife. We did get a few keepers though. The first place finisher had an AM rig while second place was on a single speed HT. Leleand had the DHR and got third place.

There were a few fences to hop and open up. Those who failed to close the fence after they opened them got a penalty added onto their time. The turnout was good and timing went off without a hitch and all riders had a good time, so overall the first race in the series was a success. I should have images loaded up in the next few days.
