2011 FOX 36 TALAS 180MM RC2 FIT FORK PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator

Fox has recently jumped into the long travel single crown fork market. I shot most of these a few weeks ago and can say they look very nice. I have ridden a downhill bike with a long travel single crown Manitou on the front so I can appreciate the benefits they offer as well. Fox has been making some claims over the last six months about its new fork coatings. Only time will tell if this makes any real world difference. Many motorcycle suspension service companies offer a coating service so keep that in mind. If you ever get a bad scratch in a stanchion try calling around and see what is offered.

Each model in the RC2 lineup features our all-new FIT RC2 inverted damper, the industry benchmark for damping performance and reliability. The new FIT RC2 damper lowers un-sprung weight, allowing the fork to react quicker for better steering control. Its unique single-wall bladder design has been engineered to provide incredibly reliable and consistent, fade-free damping. The inverted design offers the same range of adjustability, but the adjusters have been moved to the top of the stanchion for better convenience.

We designed the 36 180 mm series with an incredibly large amount of bushing overlap and a new below axle tube design, creating an extremely stiff chassis and the lowest axle-to-crown distance available in a 180 mm fork. RC2 models come with Kashima Coat stanchions for stiction-free performance, to give you quicker suspension response and improved durability. Riders who want on-the-fly adjustable travel will love the new 36 TALAS, with its new ergonomically pleasing TALAS lever that easily changes the travel setting from 180 to 140 mm.

2010 PARKFIELD CLASSIC ANNOUNCED PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Thursday, 24 June 2010 12:25
The 2010 Parkfield Classic is happening September 25-26.

Gates Open Friday
Quiet camping under the stars on the V6 ranch! We'll be staying up late and waking up early again this year to
get more people registered. We'll have the college kids separated from families and early birds as usual. All non-
collegiate racers get a BBQ ticket included with their race!
Cross Country
Parkfield has just the right brew for you. All courses come with our own flavor: narrow single track, big lung
busting fire road climbs and long, screaming fast descents.
Dual Slalom
Two courses all the way down means the battle isn’t over until the very end. Big berms and jumps make this one
sweet course. One qualifying run. The 16 fastest qualifiers in each category will go head to head in single
elimination rounds. Fastest qualifier in each race gets lane choice.
Observed Trials
Brand new to the Parkfield Classic, we will be having an unofficial observed trials competition and demonstration
this year. Come show off your precision riding skills on this awesome course. Several sections will be offered,
each with a beginner and advanced line. Judging will be done by your fellow riders. Rules on bike setup will be
relaxed, so mods and stocks will compete together.
Short Track
Fast paced and action packed XC racing that is as fun to watch as it is to race. Laps will be around the same
course as last year with long fast sections as well as some more challenging technical areas. USAC racers will
race with corresponding collegiate category due to time constraints.
Downhill
When we brew downhill, we use nothing but heaps of fresh single-track. We enrich the flavor with flowing turns,
high speed G-outs, and exciting drops. Single Run format. Bypass options are given for most obstacles. Riders
are encouraged to wear protective gear as necessary.
BBQ
provided by
Parkfield Café
This year's BBQ will take place both Saturday and Sunday by the slalom course so you can sit down and cheer
for your racers. $5 for a delicious cheeseburger, chips, and a tasty beverage. Non-Collegiate racers get a free
meal with each day they race.
Prizes
The coveted Parkfield Pint Glasses are awarded 3 deep for all categories
